Caman Engineering is the largest independent pipeline flange stockist and manufacturer in Australia.

Caman was established in 1954 to provide a service to the petrochemical and mining industries by manufacturing pipeline flanges from locally produced forgings. Since then, Caman has expanded its product range to include imported flanges to the stage where it now has the largest ex stock range of flanges of any stockist in Australia.

Caman is also now one of the leading Australian manufacturers of heat exchanger tubesheets and baffle plates, since investing heavily in state-of-the-art computer-operated drilling machines.

Pipeline flanges and heat exchange components

Caman is an approved manufacturer and supplier of pipeline flanges and heat exchange components to all oil and petrochemical companies operating in Australia, and is accredited to comply with Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9001 by Lloyds Register-certificate number 400278, and Workcover Australia certificate number MMT/33/96.

Caman carries the largest stocked range of flanges in Australia. In addition to all commonly used flanges, we specialise in stocking flanges to suit heavy wall pipe / high-pressure petro-chemical applications, many of which are not available from any other stock source in Australia.

All forged flanges stocked are supplied by leading manufacturers fully approved by all major oil, petrochemical, mining and contracting companies.

Imported flanges for the offshore industry

The following flanges are imported and stocked by Caman:

• Carbon-steel forged flanges (large diameter) to BS3293 specification

Caman also imports large forgings, special flanges and tubesheet blanks.

Large forged nozzles

Caman's capabilities include machining large forged nozzles on vertical borers. Caman machines these nozzles from forgings sourced locally and imported. The company has seven vertical borers with a maximum turning capacity of 2,650mm diameter by 1,900mm high.

Machining of large flanges

Caman can machine large flanges. An example of this capability is the turning of flange from a forging on our largest vertical borer for a Woodside project. The job size was 2,590mm (diameter) by 2,080mm (inside diameter) by 475mm (thick).

Large tubesheets

Caman provides large tubesheets, which are produced by a special-purpose CNC drilling machine. Caman recently provided a 2,747mm diameter by 310mm thick tubesheet for the Woodside project (J/N 28539). The weight prior to drilling was 13t, which was reduced to 10t.

Large baffles

Caman manufactures baffle plates for use in heat exchangers to match tubesheets. Baffle plates are stack drilled together on our CNC machining centre using special tungsten carbide drilling tooling. Baffles are 2,000mm in diameter and are drilled with 2,858 holes.

Long weld neck nozzles

Caman manufactures long weld neck flanges ranging in sizes up to over 2,000mm diameter.

Orifice flange sets

Caman manufactures weld neck orifice flange sets for use in metering applications. We also manufacture stainless-steel orifice plates that insert between the two flanges.

Radius end nozzles

Caman manufactures radius-ended nozzles to suit mounting on a vessel side. Machining is performed on a state-of-the-art CNC machining centre using tungsten carbide cutting tips.
