SLB has entered into a 15-year agreement with TotalEnergies to provide its DrillPlan coherent well planning and engineering solutions.
The contract is expected to support TotalEnergies’ transition to a digital planning environment for well construction by linking subsurface data with its engineering and planning workflows.

According to SLB, DrillPlan will allow TotalEnergies to integrate data such as offset well information, trajectory designs, casing and completion records, and key planning assumptions.
The aim is to provide cross-functional teams with access to a shared dataset, supporting well design and engineering activities from a unified basis.
SLB said the agreement combines the expertise of both companies to connect workflows, incorporate customised processes and scale digital solutions across operations.
The environment is also expected to support the continuous deployment of new digital technologies.
SLB noted that the DrillPlan platform is built on the company’s experience in well construction and digital innovation.
The system is designed to integrate established customer workflows with wider digital ecosystems, reflecting the sector’s shift towards scalable, interoperable digital platforms.
SLB digital business president Rakesh Jaggi said: “Operators are increasingly looking for scalable technologies that can support more consistent planning decisions across large and diverse portfolios.
“This agreement demonstrates how customers are moving toward digital solutions that improve consistency, strengthen collaboration and provide a foundation for future workflow innovation.”
The agreement forms part of a long-standing relationship between SLB and TotalEnergies.
Both companies said the collaboration aims to drive further development and deployment of digital solutions in well construction planning.
Last month, SLB received a contract from OQ Exploration & Production to expand the Bisat-B production facility at the Bisat oilfield in Oman.
