Reftrade UK Appoints New General Manager

New Reftrade UK general manager

Aberdeen-based Reftrade UK, a market leading specialist in the supply of cold storage solutions to the global offshore energy industry, has announced the appointment of a new general manager.

Alex Cruickshank joins the company with many years of experience in the oil and gas sector, and brings over 5 years of dedicated management experience to the role.

The new appointment will add further strength and expertise to the existing management team and will support Reftrade UK as it continues to grow and expand its product offering to the offshore energy industry.

In the two years prior to joining Reftrade UK, Mr Cruickshank was employed at Osprey3 Ltd, where he held the position of procurement and stores controller. He has previously held positions at Enfilter Ltd and Ace Winches.

Reftrade UK managing director Greg Spence said: "Alex is a valuable addition to the company. His extensive industry experience and technical expertise are key in helping us deliver the highest quality solutions to our customers, through both the sale and lease of our refrigerated solutions.

"Alex will take on a range of key responsibilities which will ensure the company’s operations continue to run efficiently and safely. His previous experience in management and site supervision make him the ideal appointment.

"Alex’s own values and behaviours strongly align with those of Reftrade UK and combined with his successful track record, expertise and strong skill set, I am confident Alex will play a key role in delivering our strategic growth plans."

Commenting on the appointment, Alex said: "I am thrilled to be joining Reftrade UK at a time of significant growth and development. This is an exciting move for me.

"The experience and knowledge that I have acquired in previous roles means that I am well placed to assist in the senior management of the company’s operations whilst improving the efficiency of the supply chain.

"I look forward to taking on the new responsibilities that this role has to offer, engaging with our customers to ensure we continue to deliver the highest standards of service and safety, while continuing to pioneer in the field of innovative refrigerated solutions.

Reftrade UK recently invested the significant sum of £100,000 in its rental fleet, which saw the company take a market-lead as the only rental supplier of 10ft and 20ft zone-rated explosion proof containers.

Using an integrated business model, Reftrade UK supplies, delivers and advises on the rental and sale of all DNV 2.7-1 / EN 12079 storage reefers including manufacturing for bespoke projects in both standard and zoned containers.

Apache/Entier required the design and supply of a new DNV 2.7-1 cold store for the Forties Bravo platform.
