Holland Successfully Completes Allison 501-KB5 Controls Retrofit

Holland has successfully completed the turbine control retrofit project at a DSM plant in Delft, the Netherlands.

The scope of the project included a retrofit of both the turbine control system as well as the generator protection panel for two Allison KB5 packages.

The project involved removing of the old two panels and replacement by a single system utilising Siemens PLCs.

The panels include control for the turbine as well as protection, synchronisation and voltage control for the generator.

Installation and commissioning only took four weeks to complete.

Customer DSM is delighted with the success of this retrofit and pleased with the life extension, energy efficiency and optimisation benefits.
