Mr. Fabio Romano, president and CEO of Brastec Technologies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Hardisty to the position of vice president – Europe.

In his new role, Paul will be responsible for overseeing Brastec’s business opportunities in Europe, including the recent acquisition of SAS Holdings in the Netherlands. He will be based in the new UK office of Brastec SAS in Newcastle upon Tyne. Paul reports to the president and chief executive officer, Mr. Fabio Romano.

Paul has almost 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, working with some of the major players including Aker, MW Kellogg, Halliburton, and most recently GE Oil and Gas. He graduated from Sheffield University, UK, with an honours degree in Metallurgy in 1983, and spent a number of years working in various locations around the world on major onshore and offshore projects as a metallurgist, project engineer and project manager.

In 1996, whilst working for Dresser Industries, he was part of the project management team that built the Wellstream flexible pipe plant in Newcastle upon Tyne. Following completion of that project he joined Wellstream International as project manager for the Norsk Hyrdo Troll project, and subsequently held a number of senior positions, including that of general manager.

Between 2005-2007 Paul was instrumental in establishing the new manufacturing facility in Niteroi, Brazil, and spent a number of years in Brazil in the position of vice president operations – Brazil. During this period he was also responsible for all capital investments for the GE Wellstream business.

Paul has recently relocated back to the UK with his family.
