Global System Development (GSD) offers a wide range of services, from consultancy and third-party inspection to electrical engineering, software development, service and commissioning on both onshore and offshore industrial installations.
With a number of years’ experience operating as an independent company in oil and gas related industries, GSD can offer its customers impartial advice and services so they can choose the best equipment, software and engineering methods for their projects.
GSD’s team of commissioning engineers are fully-trained in onshore and offshore commissioning, and are all BOSIET (NOGEPA, OLF and OPITO) certified.
Software packages and PLC programming
GSD’s team is not only well-experienced with a number of advanced software packages, but is also able to adapt software when required according to customers’ specific requirements.
GSD has experience with several supervisory computer systems, including eXLerate®, a Microsoft Excel-based programme used across a range of process control and metering installations; Siemens WINCC, GE Fanuc Proficy, Wizcon Supervisor, Wonderware and many other packages.
GSD offers a wide experience in flow computers, analyzers and fiscal flow metering equipment from brands such as Elster, Emerson, Sick Maihak, OMNI, Endress&Hauser, Siemens, Caldon and Spirit IT/FC, as well as the knowledge to operate and / or train operators in the use of this equipment.
PLC applications are designed to operate machinery and respond to events in real time. GSD offers a range of packages, including Rockwell, Siemens, Scheider Electric, GE fanuc, VIPA and Omron, as well as being able to adapt to any other existing applications.
Electrical and instrumentation engineering
GSD can provide services for all stages of electrical components for installations, from engineering design to production and testing. Calculations can be made from the customer’s specifications and from there our team can create loop and lay-out drawings. As GSD is an independent services provider, any brands can be integrated into the design.
GSD can carry out in-house testing of electrical cabinets, and can also provide witnessed factory acceptance tests prior to shipment.
Consultancy and third-party inspection
Since 2009, Global System Development has had a division dedicated to consultancy services for oil and gas related projects and third-party inspections. Services offered by this division include devising specifications, equipment lists and manuals.
In addition to training material, GSD also run hands-on instruction and training sessions in-house or on location, and can perform third-party inspections or validations and calibration witnessing.
Ultrasonic metering equipment performance monitoring
Current fiscal metering standards have recently undergone some changes in order to improve accuracy, and now require regular maintenance and/or recalibration. As such, it is preferable to have constant, online monitoring of ultrasonic metering equipment to provide information the second that maintenance, recalibration or proving is required.
GSD offers a stand-alone PC-based program to generate a log for diagnostics and to track errors, and can carry out performance monitoring for ultrasonic meters from Elster, Caldon and Sick-Maihak.

Due to the rapid increase in demand and consequent engineering of wind turbines and solar panels, as well as their often remote location and complex mechanisms, green energy machinery needs regular monitoring and evaluation to make sure the output matches what’s expected.
GSD Automation has developed software packages for wind, solar and integrated energy, which are able to perform monitoring, analysis and preventative maintenance for sites both onshore and offshore.
