The Static Electricity and Lightning Protection conference 2020 will take place in the conference room of Venue Flinders Hotel, Cnr. Cook and Wood Streets, Flinders VIC, Australia, 3929 on 13-14 February.

This is the only conference in the Asia Pacific region dedicated to static electricity and lightning protection. The conference will include interactive demonstrations and presentations from local and international manufacturers on a range of topics including compliance and standards, the latest research and technology, innovations, and best practice.

Before you plan your next static electricity or lightning protection project visit the Static Electricity & Lightning Protection Conference.

Workshops will be available with leading subject matter experts in static electricity, earthing and bonding, chemical additives, electrical installation, lightning, cathodic and surge protection, and Australian and international standards.

At the conference, you will be able to hear about updates and proposed changes to IEC 60079-32-1, ASNZS 1020 and AS/NZS 1768 and discover how they affect your workplace. You will also learn about static electricity control and lightning protection systems through case studies and critical discussion, update your knowledge on static electricity control for process and machinery safety, and learn how to design and install static electricity control and lightning protection systems in hazardous areas.

More benefits include getting a look at how Australian and international standards are being successfully applied, gaining an understanding of how AS/NZS 3000 applies to static electricity and lightning protection systems, discussing critical issues of compliance to standards with experienced professionals and finding practical solutions to your static electricity and lightning protection issues.

This conference will also be a great opportunity to network and share your experiences with static electricity control and lightning protection experts and your peers.

Keynote speakers and presenters will include committee members of CSELP and HAECA. SELP 2020 offers attendees an opportunity to talk to industry and subject matter experts for a modest admission cost.

Mr Jim Doumis, instrumentation and electrical project manager, will be a keynote speaker on the subject of major hazard sites. Mr Colin Baker, hazardous area trainer, H Class inspector, auditor, advisor and committee member, will be a keynote speaker on the subject of Australian standards.
