STONE WOOL FIRE PROTECTION

The ROCKWOOL products are based on stone wool, which cannot burn and which will withstand temperatures up to 1,000°C without melting.

Thus ROCKWOOL stone wool provides the best guarantee for an effective fire protection on-board offshore platforms.

FIRE HAZARD PROTECTION

Fires on floating offshore facilities can be caused by hydrocarbon fire conditions. Hydrocarbon fire conditions are typified by burning oils and fuels. Hydrocarbons burn far more fiercely than cellulosic materials (which are used on-board ships) and consequently require fire protection systems of substantially superior performance.

BULKHEAD AND DECK FIRE PROTECTION

ROCKWOOL offshore fire protection systems surpass the most stringent standards of structural stability and integrity, limiting the spread of fire and protecting personnel and equipment.

ROCKWOOL Firebat 150 is approved to provide H60 and H120 fire protection to bulkheads and decks. Cellulosic fire protection to A30 and A60 standard can be provided to bulkheads and decks by for instance ROCKWOOL Marine Firebatts 100 or Marine Firebatts 130.

HIGH TEMPERATURE INSULATION FOR SUBSEA PIPE LINES

To fulfil the increasing demands for high-temperature resistant insulation for subsea pipelines, ROCKWOOL has introduced a new product range, Aquaduct Insulation Systems. Aquaduct Insulation Systems incorporate a number of different forms of Rockwool insulation.

APPROVALS

All ROCKWOOL products and constructions have been tested according to the latest IMO regulations, just as ROCKWOOL A/S is certified according to the latest MED directive. As Notified Body ROCKWOOL A/S has chosen Det Norske Veritas, which consequently guarantees our quality.

Besides Det Norske Veritas all ROCKWOOL products are approved by all major classification societies, i.e. Lloyd’s register and American Bureau of Shipping.
