From its base in Sheffield, UK, Mechan develops an impressive range of standard and bespoke jib cranes, hoists and winches, mobile cranes and mould handlers.

Swing jib cranes

Mechan’s range of swing jib cranes suits most applications and can be tailored specifically to meet the client’s needs. The under or overbraced cranes can be supplied with a manual or powered slew and used in ATEX-rated applications, including outdoor environments, marine, petro-chemical, offshore and hazardous areas.

The MiniMan range offers lifting capabilities of up to 2,000kg, whilst the PowerMan has an increased capacity of up to 5,000kg. The largest of Mechan’s jib cranes is the MightyMan, which is suitable for loads of between 5,000kg and 20,000kg.

All Mechan jib cranes are supplied with standard or special paint finishes and manual, electric or pneumatic hoists. A global installation service is also available.

Chain or wire-rope hoists and winches

Mechan offers a wide range of chain or wire-rope hoists and winches. All hoists are efficiently proportioned, supplied with motors for high-duty cycles and can be finished in the same standard or specialist paint as the crane. A choice of lifting and travel speeds ensures the hoist traverses smoothly and quietly whilst in use.

Mechan’s reliable chain hoists can be used in all applications up to 5,000kg, whilst the adaptable wire-rope hoists and winches are available as a modular system and are designed to lift between 500kg and 160,000kg.

Mobile cranes

Mechan is the official UK supplier of mobile cranes from Italian experts Gruniverpal Tranchero. These cranes feature a combined articulated-telescopic hoisting system for maximum flexibility. They can handle loads of every weight and dimension and reach heights that were previously impossible, thanks to a patented kinematics system.

These mobile cranes are widely regarded as some of the best telescopic handlers on the market, as their compact construction makes them suitable for indoor and outdoor use in both civil and industrial environments. Precision handling is assured, even in restricted areas, thanks to the slewing boom’s 180° rotation (left and right) and hydraulic controls.

Mould handlers

Mechan also supplies mould handlers from Gruniverpal Tranchero. Boasting the company’s patented kinematic system, they meet various load needs and offer maximum versatility via a number of advanced features.

The mould handlers make it possible for just one operator to undertake mould changes using a remote or radio control. Their compact, yet sturdy construction ensures constant operational and capacity rates are maintained and the complete elimination of oscillation during mould lifting and handling.
