Recently SAS Winches has been awarded a contract for the supply of a mooring equipment package consisting of mooring winches, control system, fairleads, diverter sheaves, cables and anchors. A bridle retrieval system including six airtuggers, towing brackets, chocks and other mooring auxiliaries has also been ordered.

Client CICSA, part of Mr Carlos Slim Grupo Carso, Mexico, will install the equipment on their jack-up rig Independencia 1, the first ever new-built jack-up rig in Central America. The rig will be built according to the F&G JU-2000 design at their Tuxpan facility.

The first equipment is scheduled to be installed on-board the rig at the beginning of May 2010.
