SweOffshore

We are happy to announce that SweOffshore has been awarded the contract for supplying a hotel vessel to Dong Energy’s offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund. The mobilisation of Regina Baltica started on 16 October 2014 in Cuxhaven and was followed by trials and safety drills, including helicopter landings offshore. The mobilisation was completed in Emden on 27 October 2014, with the loading of containers carrying tools and equipment.

SweOffshore Maritime chairman of the board Anders Nordlund said: "It is a proud moment for everybody working at SweOffshore; we have been given this opportunity to prove ourselves as the preferred supplier of offshore accommodation to the renewable sector. By supplying the hotel vessel to Dong Energy’s Borkum Riffgrund, we will be meeting a new standard of safety and quality in the business."

Borkum Riffgrund will comprise 78 turbines with a total capacity of up to 312MW, which will be able to supply CO2-free power equivalent to nearly 203,530 German households.
