Parat Halvorsen has been awarded both oil-fired boiler plant contracts for Simek Shipyard.

Parat Halvorsen has been awarded both oil-fired boiler plant contracts by Simek Shipyard for their new buildings 129 and 130, with a further one in option. The boilers will be delivered as combined boilers for both hot water production and steam production. The boiler plants will be equipped with a complete steam injection system for ORO tank heating. The oil-fired boiler is of three-pass design, which is demands less space than a standard boiler design and with additional high-steam production capacity.

The buildings, designed by Skipsteknisk, are of ST-216 design and are approximately 85m long, 19.2m wide and will be furnished for approximately 20-25 crew members. Both buildings, contracted by Gulf Offshore, will be delivered in 2013.

The ST-216 is designed with a low-resistance hull and high-efficiency propellers in order to achieve low fuel oil consumption.
