Explosion protection systems for the offshore industry
Turner EPS’s explosion protection systems division has been supplying explosion-protected diesel engines, diesel / electric MHE and components for a wide range of hazardous area applications since the late 1980s.
We offer comprehensive conversions for Category 2G and 3G equipment with our 2G PAC® and 3G PAC® diesel engine passive protected equipment packages, and 3G AIR® and AIR SAFE® active protection systems used with mobile or semi-portable equipment and with vehicles and battery-powered forklift trucks.
Turner EPS can provide a ‘make safe’ technological solution for the ever-increasing demand for assured certified equipment operating in potentially hazardous areas.
Incorporated in our 3G PAC engine packages are exhaust gas cooling, exhaust flame traps (flame arrestors), as well as ex-rated electrical control and safety shut-off systems.
3G AIR and AIR SAFE are active protection infra-red gas detection systems for use with mobile / semi-portable equipment, vehicles and battery powered forklift trucks.

Turner EPS is an official distributor for Capstone Turbine Corporation for the UK, the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Turner EPS offers Capstone micro turbine technology as an alternative solution to traditional diesel engine powered packages across a wide spectrum of business applications.
Advanced engineering and more than 100 patents put the Capstone MicroTurbines in a class of their own. Capstone MicroTurbines have just one moving part, no gearbox or other mechanicals, and use no lubricants or hazardous materials, resulting in minimal maintenance while providing reliable, dependable performance.
Turner EPS Capstone MicroTurbines solutions are scalable from 30kW to 10MW and can operate on natural gas, propane, landfill gas, digester gas, diesel, aviation, and kerosene fuels. The C1000 power package, the world’s first megawatt micro turbine power system, can be configured into smaller 800kW and 600kW solutions – all within a single ISO-type container.
