June 2021 has seen an decrease of 1.1% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.6% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.41% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 45.43% in June 2021, a 1.81% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 20.97% in June 2021, marking a 32.2% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 14.78% in June 2021, a 1.85% growth from May 2021.

Top five oil & gas companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 29.29% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s oil & gas industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Exxon Mobil posted 41 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 51.85% over the previous month, followed by Italgas with 23 jobs and a 109.09% growth. BASF with 22 IT jobs and BP with 21 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 61.54% increase, respectively, while Air Liquide recorded a 19.23% decline with 21 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s oil & gas industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 19.35% share in June 2021, a 30.91% rise over May 2021. Germany featured next with an 18.28% share, up 17.24% over the previous month. Hungary recorded a 13.71% share, a growth of 54.55% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.43%, up by 6.07% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.74% share, a decline of 8.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.56% share, up 79.17% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.27%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
