June 2021 has seen an increase of 21.03% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.33% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.91% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 52.38% in June 2021, a 22.22% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 28.57% in June 2021, marking a 45.45% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 14.29% in June 2021, a flat growth from May 2021.

Sasol posted 6 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an flat growth over the previous month, followed by John Wood Group with 3 jobs and a 50% drop. Saudi Arabian Oil with 3 IT jobs and Worley with 2 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 33.33% drop, respectively, while TotalEnergies recorded a 50% decline with 1 job postings during June 2021.

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 38.1% share in June 2021, an 11.11% decline over May 2021. Saudi Arabia featured next with a 28.57% share, flat growth over the previous month. Qatar recorded a 9.52% share, a growth of 100% compared with May 2021.

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.43%, flat growth from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.05% share, a decline of 60% compared with the previous month.
