Clamps vs Composol® Pipework

The method of using clamps to seal active leaks and repair pipelines is a very common and convenient method, which has been used in the Oil & Gas sector for more than 40 years.

However, although this method is utilised frequently and proven to be very successful, it also poses many problems and limitations. This paper will discuss the use and feasibility of clamps in the Oil & Gas sector compared to an alternative method, a composite pipe repair. The operational, technical and commercial benefits of a specific composite repair, CompoSol® Pipework, over clamps will be discussed in detail.
