The 715km-long pipeline will have the capacity to transport 1.3 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.
The two contracts, which have a period of 15 years, will help in expanding ADNOC’s offshore production capacity.
The assets include producing wells, an inventory of undrilled locations, and wells in the process of drilling and completion.
The Sakhalin-1 project’s production declined to 10,000 barrels per day following sanctions by Western nations on Russia.
The transaction would be the largest acquisition by the Canadian oil and gas producer, Strathcona.
The wellhead platform will be delivered to Shell’s Jackdaw field, which will be commissioned in the mid-2020s.
The proposed project will complement the company’s $7bn Coral-Sul FLNG platform.
