June 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 10.02% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 49.54% in June 2022, a 30.59% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 18.72% in June 2022, marking a 1.92% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.94% in June 2022, an 8.43% drop from May 2022.

Top five oil & gas companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 25.32% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Shell posted 114 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 48.88% over the previous month, followed by Koch Industries with 52 jobs and an 8.33% growth. Yara International with 49 IT jobs and PI Industries with 40 jobs, recorded an 8.89% rise and an 18.37% drop, respectively, while PTT Global Chemical Public recorded a 54.55% increase with 34 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s oil & gas industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 64.77% share in June 2022, a 27.52% decrease over May 2022. Thailand featured next with a 7.89% share, up 59.26% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 7.16% share, a growth of 14.71% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.92%, down by 28.29% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 33.21% share, registered a decline of 6.7% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.87% share, down 50.77% over May 2022.
