US-based company Baker Hughes IT hiring declined 11.0% in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 3.06% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

IT jobs claimed an 8.63% share in the company’s total hiring activity in November 2022, and recorded a 1.56% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Baker Hughes IT hiring in November 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Baker Hughes, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 70.18% in November 2022, and a 21.57% drop over October 2022, while Computer Support Specialists claimed a share of 14.04% in November 2022, and registered a decline of 20%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.28% in November 2022, a 22.22% drop from October 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Baker Hughes

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in November 2022 with a 45.61% share, which marked a 42.22% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 26.32%, registering a 21.05% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 21.05% share and a 33.33% rise over October 2022.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 5.26% and a month-on-month increase of 200%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.75%, registering an 83.33% drop over the previous month.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 38.6% share in November 2022, a 40.54% decline over October 2022. US featured next with a 21.05% share, down 7.69% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 14.04% share, an increase of 100% compared with October 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Baker Hughes IT hiring activity in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, down by 35.59% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.56% share, a decline of 30% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.77% share, up 400% over October 2022.
