US-based company Baker Hughes IT hiring rose 9.4% in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 6.66% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 13.62% share in the company’s total hiring activity in February 2022, and recorded a 0.04% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Baker Hughes IT hiring in February 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Baker Hughes, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 56.88% in February 2022, and a 26.19% drop over January 2022, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 23.85% in February 2022, and registered growth of 116.67%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.34% in February 2022, a 46.67% drop from January 2022.
North America drives IT hiring at Baker Hughes
North America emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in February 2022 with a 42.2% share, which marked a 15% rise over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 31.19%, registering a 30.61% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 19.27% share and a 34.38% drop over January 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 3.67% and a month-on-month decline of 20%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 3.67%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 40.37% share in February 2022, a 25.71% growth over January 2022. India featured next with a 28.44% share, down 22.5% over the previous month. Italy recorded a 5.5% share, a decline of 33.33% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Baker Hughes IT hiring activity in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.14%, down by 27.55% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.85% share, a growth of 13.04% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.01% share, up 33.33% over January 2022.
