UK-based company BP’s IT hiring rose 17.2% in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 43.11% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 9.63% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2022, and recorded a 3.98% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops BP IT hiring in October 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by BP, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 48.84% in October 2022, and a 75% rise over September 2022, while Computer and Information Analysts claimed a share of 25.58% in October 2022, and registered flat growth. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 13.95% in October 2022, a flat growth from September 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at BP

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in October 2022 with a 46.51% share, which marked a 66.67% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 37.21%, registering a 6.67% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 16.28% share and a flat growth over September 2022.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 37.21% share in October 2022, a 100% growth over September 2022. The UK featured next with a 20.93% share, up 80% over the previous month.

Mid Level jobs lead BP IT hiring activity in October 2022

Mid Level jobs held a share of 55.81%, up by 14.29% from September 2022. Junior Level positions with a 34.88% share, a growth of 7.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.3% share, up 100% over September 2022.
