Brazil’s oil & gas industry registered a 5.7% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.83% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 20.87% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.7% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Brazil’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 102.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 39.61% in February 2022, registering a 3.8% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 27.05% share, an increase of 19.15% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 20.29%, registering a 37.7% rise from January 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.97%, up 94.12% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Brazil’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 19.19% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Brazil’s oil & gas industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Ecopetrol posted 375 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a rise of 16.82% over the previous month, followed by Exxon Mobil with 32 jobs and a 45.45% growth. Cosan with 1 IT job and Syngenta with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Momentive Performance Materials recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.88%, up by 9.93% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 19.32% share, registered an increase of 56.86% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.8% share, up 26.32% over January 2022.
