Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.48% share in November 2022, recording an increase of 0.34% over the last three-month average share.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 23.53% share, a decrease of 55.56% over the previous month.
3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 21.57%, registering an 8.33% decline from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 50% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s oil & gas industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
TC Energy posted 6 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 20% over the previous month, followed by Cenovus Energy with 5 jobs and a 66.67% growth. Nutrien with 5 IT jobs and Enbridge with 5 jobs, recorded an 81.48% decline and a 44.44% decrease, respectively, while Parkland recorded a decline of 33.33% with 4 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.94%, down by 40% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.29% share, registered a decline of 40% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.76% share, down 62.5% over October 2022.
