China’s oil & gas industry registered a 0.6% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.99% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.53% share in November 2022, recording an increase of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry in November 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 33.33% in November 2022, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 29.63% share, an increase of 33.33% over the previous month.
3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 25.93%, registering a 600% rise from October 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.41%, up 100% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 120% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
BASF posted 10 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 233.33% over the previous month, followed by Halliburton with 4 jobs and a flat growth. PetroChina with 4 IT jobs and LyondellBasell Industries with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 50% growth, respectively, while Exxon Mobil recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.85%, up by 27.27% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.52% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.52% share, up 150% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 11.11%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
