China’s oil & gas industry registered a 3.8% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.11% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.12% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 105.08% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 76.27% in February 2022, registering an 80% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.25% share, an increase of 50% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 8.47%, registering a 150% rise from January 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.08%, down 62.5% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 122.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Koch Industries posted 11 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by BASF with 9 jobs and an 80% growth. Henkel AGKGaA with 7 IT jobs and Yara International with 7 jobs, recorded a 133.33% growth and a 12.5% decrease, respectively, while Exxon Mobil recorded an increase of 200% with 6 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.97%, up by 53.33% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.56% share, registered a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.47% share, flat growth over January 2022.
