China’s oil & gas industry registered a 7.0% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.18% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.9% share in November 2021, recording an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 107.55% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.6% in November 2021, registering a 42.86% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.87% share, an increase of 66.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.09%, registering a 166.67% rise from October 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 13.21%, down 22.22% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s oil & gas industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Yara International posted 11 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Dow with 7 jobs and a 133.33% growth. SBM Offshore with 4 IT jobs and Exxon Mobil with 4 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 20% decrease, respectively, while Baker Hughes recorded an increase of 33.33% with 4 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.26%, up by 32% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.53% share, registered an increase of 8.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.21% share, up 133.33% over October 2021.
