Germany’s oil & gas industry registered a 2.5% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.02% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.57% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 101.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s oil & gas industry in October 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.24% in October 2021, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 14.29% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 13.19%, registering a 25% decline from September 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.99%, down 9.09% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 8.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s oil & gas industry during October 2021 over September 2021.

BASF posted 36 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 63.64% over the previous month, followed by Yara International with 17 jobs and a 21.43% growth. Henkel AGKGaA with 15 IT jobs and Evonik Industries with 15 jobs, recorded a 28.57% decline and a 25% decrease, respectively, while Baker Hughes Holdings recorded an increase of 50% with 3 job postings during October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.63%, down by 2.9% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 16.48% share, registered an increase of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 9.89% share, down 40% over September 2021.
