The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 28.71% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.98% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.74% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.95% in October 2022, registering a 23.37% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.56% share, a decrease of 59.62% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10.62%, registering a 34.85% decline from September 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.9%, down 50.77% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 35.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s oil & gas industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Reliance Industries posted 174 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 9.38% over the previous month, followed by PI Industries with 66 jobs and a 20.48% drop. Baker Hughes with 37 IT jobs and Yara International with 24 jobs, recorded a 9.76% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Shell recorded a decline of 87.42% with 20 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.88%, down by 48.07% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 33.33% share, registered a decline of 38.91% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 16.79% share, up 54.55% over September 2022.
