The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 15.12% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.77% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.89% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.8% in November 2022, registering a 73.71% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 22.6% share, a decrease of 45.21% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.69%, registering a 44.68% decline from October 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.08%, down 71.88% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 8.39% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s oil & gas industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
PI Industries posted 57 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 13.64% over the previous month, followed by Baker Hughes with 22 jobs and a 40.54% drop. Yara International with 22 IT jobs and Fugro with 17 jobs, recorded an 8.33% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while BP recorded a decline of 18.75% with 13 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.36%, down by 53.28% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.12% share, registered a decline of 71.6% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.52% share, down 92.16% over October 2022.
