The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 0.57% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 4.09% share in the company’s total hiring activity in December 2021, and recorded a 0.71% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops John Wood Group IT hiring in December 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by John Wood Group , Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 40.54% in December 2021, and a 15.38% rise over November 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 29.73% in December 2021, and registered flat growth. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.22% in December 2021, a 40% drop from November 2021.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at John Wood Group
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global oil & gas IT hiring activity in December 2021 with a 32.43% share, which marked a 33.33% rise over the previous month.
North America stood next with 32.43%, registering a 42.86% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 21.62% share and a 33.33% rise over November 2021.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 10.81% and a month-on-month increase of 100%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 2.7%, registering a 50% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 16.22% share in December 2021, a 40% decline over November 2021. Australia featured next with a 10.81% share, up 300% over the previous month. Kazakhstan recorded a 10.81% share, an increase of 100% compared with November 2021.

Junior Level jobs held a share of 45.95%, down by 34.62% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 37.84% share, a growth of 55.56% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.51% share, flat growth over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.7%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
