The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.61% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.99% share in October 2022, recording an increase of 0.61% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 157.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Malaysia’s oil & gas industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

PPG Industries posted 5 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 400% over the previous month, followed by Petronas Dagangan with 4 jobs and a 33.33% growth. Evonik Industries with 3 IT jobs and BP with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Halliburton recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.52%, flat growth from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.69% share, registered a decline of 40% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.79% share, up 33.33% over September 2022.
