Singapore’s oil & gas industry registered a 1.9% drop in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.22% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.03% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Singapore’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry in February 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 62.96% in February 2022, registering a 13.33% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 22.22% share, a decrease of 25% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.41%, registering a flat growth from January 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.41%, up 100% over the previous month.
Top five oil & gas companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 12.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry during February 2022 over January 2022.
Keppel posted 6 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by Yara International with 4 jobs and a 20% drop. Exxon Mobil with 3 IT jobs and Halliburton with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Chevron recorded a decline of 33.33% with 2 job postings during February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.26%, flat growth from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.22% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 18.52% share, up 66.67% over January 2022.
