Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.46% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.78% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 44.95% in October 2022, registering a 9.26% decline over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 24.77% share, a decrease of 10% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 20.18%, registering a 37.5% rise from September 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.5%, down 40% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 7.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s oil & gas industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Exxon Mobil posted 42 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 44.83% over the previous month, followed by BP with 9 jobs and an 80% growth. CGG with 8 IT jobs and Shell with 6 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 73.91% decrease, respectively, while LyondellBasell Industries recorded a decline of 33.33% with 6 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.48%, up by 17.91% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.76% share, registered a decline of 58.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.76% share, down 6.25% over September 2022.
