The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 14.49% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.81% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 1.21% over the last three-month average share.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 38.16% in November 2022, registering a 58.57% decline over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 38.16% share, an increase of 45% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10.53%, registering a 68% decline from October 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7.89%, up 50% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 29.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s oil & gas industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Exxon Mobil posted 16 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 75% over the previous month, followed by Schlumberger with 12 jobs and a flat growth. Fugro with 9 IT jobs and Baker Hughes with 8 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% growth, respectively, while Johnson Matthey recorded an increase of 50% with 6 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.53%, down by 47.13% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 27.63% share, registered a decline of 4.55% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.84% share, down 47.06% over October 2022.
