The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.92% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.96% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 29.24% in October 2022, registering an 11.33% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 28.72% share, a decrease of 29.75% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 20.83%, registering a 27.15% decline from September 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.18%, down 45.8% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 31.63% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s oil & gas industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

ShawCor posted 68 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 119.35% over the previous month, followed by Koch Industries with 44 jobs and a 74.12% drop. Nutrien with 44 IT jobs and Air Products and Chemicals with 42 jobs, recorded a 32.31% decline and a 10.53% growth, respectively, while Halliburton recorded an increase of 3.57% with 29 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.2%, down by 21.98% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.71% share, registered a decline of 5.91% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.83% share, down 46.85% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.26%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
