Block 9 is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Oman and is operated by Occidental of Oman. The field is located in block Block 9 (Suneinah).

Production from Block 9

The Block 9 conventional oil field recovered 77.30% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2015. The peak production was approximately 97.33 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 124 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2052. The field currently accounts for approximately 4% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 255.63 Mmboe, comprised of 244.01 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 69.74 bcf of natural gas reserves. Block 9 conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.06% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
