Colorado witnessed a decrease of 0.34% in total oil and gas production to 15,13,084.95 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production grew 4.53% in February 2022 from 14,47,482.85 boe/d in February 2021. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2022 increased by 4.36% from the same period in 2021.

In February 2022, oil production declined 0.47% to 4,44,150.54 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 0.29% to 6,199.82 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production increased by 12.52% in 2022 when compared with the same period in 2021, while gas production rose by 1.3%. Out of the total oil and gas production in February 2022, oil held a 29.35% share, while gas had a 70.64% share.


In Colorado, Occidental Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 2,12,116.78 boe/d in February 2022, an increase of 0.44% from the previous month. The company held an 18.13% share in oil production and 12.31% share in gas production in February 2022.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 0.68% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2021.



Compared with other counties in Colorado, Weld county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 54.87% share in February 2022. The county witnessed a 0.69% decrease in production to 8,30,162.92 boe/d in February 2022 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Weld registered an increase of 4.24% in total production from the same period in 2021.
