Marcellus Shale production up by 1.39% in July 2021

Marcellus Shale witnessed an increase of 1.39% in total oil and gas production to 54,89,486.64 boe/d in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production in Marcellus grew by 5.72% in July 2021 from 51,92,340.51 boe/d in July 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play increased by 9.04% from the same period in 2020.

In Marcellus, oil production declined by 2.54% in July 2021 as compared with the previous month, while gas production decreased by 1.2% to 29,529.03 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production in the play increased by 10.55% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 6.96%. Out of the total oil and gas production in July 2021, oil held a 1.48% share, while gas had a 92.74% share.

In Marcellus, EQT emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 9,19,502.02 boe/d in July 2021, a decrease of 2.25% from the previous month. The company held a 2.23% share in oil production and 17.59% share in gas production in July 2021.

On a YTD basis, the company registered an 8.55% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.

 


 

Compared with other counties within Marcellus Shale, Susquehanna county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 13.83% share in July 2021. The county witnessed a 3.01% increase in production to 7,59,003.36 boe/d in July 2021 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 1.87% in total production from the same period in 2020.
