Mississippi oil and gas production activity declined by 4.37% in November 2021

Mississippi witnessed a decrease of 4.37% in total oil and gas production to 1,35,759.22 boe/d in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production grew 14.32% in November 2021 from 1,18,751.67 boe/d in November 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2021 increased by 6.59% from the same period in 2020.

In November 2021, oil production grew 0.05% to 37,793.2 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 5.97% to 568.2 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 4.31% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production rose by 11.82%. Out of the total oil and gas production in November 2021, oil held a 27.84% share, while gas had a 72.16% share.

In Mississippi, Denbury Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,01,703.11 boe/d in November 2021, a decrease of 5.68% from the previous month. The company held a 43.26% share in oil production and 87.13% share in gas production in November 2021.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 9.64% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.

Compared with other counties in Mississippi, Rankin county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 47.04% share in November 2021. The county witnessed a 6% decrease in production to 63,854.98 boe/d in November 2021 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Rankin registered an increase of 15.55% in total production from the same period in 2020.
