Niobrara Shale witnessed a decrease of 3.11% in total oil and gas production to 3,81,626 boe/d in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production in Niobrara declined by 14.62% in August 2021 from 4,46,997.61 boe/d in August 2020. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play decreased by 13.32% from the same period in 2020.

In Niobrara oil production grew by 9.14% in August 2021 as compared with the previous month, while gas production decreased by 3.98% to 2,047.26 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production in the play decreased by 15.53% in 2021 when compared with the same period in 2020, while gas production declined by 13.15%. Out of the total oil and gas production in August 2021, oil held a 7.51% share, while gas had a 92.49% share.

In Niobrara, Ultra Petroleum emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 1,31,163.48 boe/d in August 2021, a decrease of 2.69% from the previous month. The company held a 17.34% share in oil production and 35.75% share in gas production in August 2021.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 20.12% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2020.

 


 

Compared with other counties within Niobrara Shale, Sublette county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 58.39% share in August 2021. The county witnessed a 3.56% decrease in production to 2,22,827.49 boe/d in August 2021 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 18.92% in total production from the same period in 2020.
