Two expansion projects are associated with the Nene Marine conventional oil field, namely the Nene Phase 3 and the Nene Phase 2B Full Field Development. The expansion projects are currently in the approval and construction stage.

Field participation details

The field is owned by Eni, Lukoil Oil and Societe Nationale des Petroles du Congo.

Production from Nene Marine

The Nene Marine conventional oil field recovered 25.51% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2022. The peak production was approximately 39.71 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 57.00 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2044. The field currently accounts for approximately 16% of the country’s daily output.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 175.90 Mmboe, comprised of 142.15 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 202.51 bcf of natural gas reserves. Nene Marine conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.04% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
