The petrochemicals segment contracts in Africa registered a decrease of 60% with two contracts in August 2021, when compared with the previous month’s total of five contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

A total of two contracts were registered in the petrochemicals segment of Africa during the month, remained flat when compared with the last 12-month average contracts.

 


 

Contract award activity in Africa’s petrochemicals segment during August 2021

In August 2021, Egypt and Algeria led the activity with one contract and a 50% share each of the petrochemicals oil and gas contracts in Africa. It saw a decrease of 75% over the previous month’s total of four contracts and a flat growth when compared with the last 12 month-average of one contract in Egypt.

Based on 12-month moving average of the contracts in the petrochemicals segment of Africa, Egypt and Nigeria took the top spot with one contract each.

During the month, the majority of petrochemicals segment contracts awarded in the Africa were in the design & engineering with one contract, followed by installation with one contract.
