Shwe Complex is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Myanmar and is operated by Posco International. The field is located in block A 1 and A 3, with water depth of 5,053 feet.
Two expansion projects are associated with the Shwe Complex conventional gas field, namely Shwe Phase-2 and Shwe Phase-3. The expansion projects are currently in the commissioning and feed stage, targeting start-up during 2022 – 2025.

Production from Shwe Complex
The Shwe Complex conventional gas field recovered 37.67% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2022. The peak production was approximately 608 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2039. The field currently accounts for approximately 33% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 395.98 Mmboe, comprised of 2,375.87 bcf of natural gas reserves. Shwe Complex conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.13% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
