The upstream segment contracts in North America registered a decrease of 21% with 79 contracts in April 2022, when compared with the previous month’s total of 100 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

A total of 79 contracts were registered in the upstream segment of North America during the month, when compared with the last 12-month moving average of 72 contracts.


In terms of the number of contracts in North America, the upstream segment contributed the most with 79 contracts in April 2022, followed by midstream and renewable refinery segments with 12 and four contracts, respectively.

In April 2022, the US led the activity with 72 contracts and a 91% share of the upstream oil and gas contracts in North America. It saw a decrease of 20% over the previous month’s total of 90 contracts and an increase of 14% when compared with the last 12 month-average of 63 contracts in the US.
