Frontera Resources has started a new drilling campaign at the Mtsare Khevi gas complex in Georgia.
Location construction for well #32a will start soon while drilling is anticipated to start in August. The well is expected to take around 15 days to reach a planned total depth of around 400m.
Gas production operations have continued since commencement in April. Gas is being delivered to Georgia’s national grid through Frontera’s gas gathering / processing facilities and associated 14km transportation system. The system houses gas production at a planned rate of around two million cubic feet a day.
Geologic studies will also be carried out throughout the Mtsare Khevi gas complex. The ongoing studies include the integration of current gas production performance; historical geologic, geophysical and engineering databases. They also include new geologic fieldwork and outcrop sampling, as well as associated laboratory analysis.
The work is anticipated to be completed by the third quarter, with independent assessment planned to start later in the fourth quarter.
The 80km² complex has gas reservoir targets identified between 300m and 5,000m in depth.
