Brent crude rose by 28¢ to stand at $112.17 a barrel today, as Europe’s economic problems increased fears of a renewed recession, thereby capping gains.

US crude slipped by 32¢ to $97.82, after closing at a 15-week high in the previous session.

Oil markets were also affected by hopes that Italy and Greece’s government reforms will resolve their debt crises, reports Reuters.
