Canyon Offshore, a robotics subsidiary of Houston-based Helix Energy Solutions, has agreed to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services and equipment to a unit of McDermott International over a fixed term of three years with options to extend.
Under the agreement, Canyon will provide dual 3,000m ROV systems onboard McDermott vessels, which will initially include the North Ocean 102, Lay Vessel North Ocean 105, Lay Vessel 108 and the Derrick Lay Vessel 2000.

Canyon will also supply tooling, personnel and ROV project support to McDermott.
Six ROV systems will be installed on three of the McDermott vessels as part of the contract services and equipment mobilisation, which is likely to begin in mid-2014.
