German drilling rig supplier Bentec has been awarded a contract by North American onshore drilling contractor Xtreme Drilling for the supply of three major drilling equipment packages.
Under the contract, which marks Bentec’s foray into the North American oilfield equipment market, the company will provide the drilling components for the upgrade of three of its new proprietary design 850XE land rigs.
Each of the three Bentec equipment packages will comprise a 500t AC top drive, a remote-controlled iron roughneck and an offline stand builder.
The drilling components’ new remote control and monitoring features will provide enhanced rig performance and increased level of automation.
Bentec CEO Dirk Schulze said: “Our entry into the North American market is a key milestone in Bentec’s development.
