The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Offshore Media Group (OMG) will launch a chain of SPE technical conferences, workshops and training courses at Offshore Technology Days (OTD).

SPE and OMG will jointly conduct a series of technical workshops and training courses in 2014 at OTD, Norway’s largest annual energy trade show, with nearly 500 companies exhibiting and up to 30,000 visitors.

"We are pleased to announce our strategic partnership with OMG collaborating on their established OTD event."

Workshops and training courses will be designed to encourage knowledge transfer and provide a platform for discussion on the issues most important to the region.

From 2016, SPE and OTD will focus more on technical knowledge, best practices, new technologies and specific challenges faced by the North Sea Offshore E&P industry, where SPE will launch a biennial technical conference alongside the OTD exhibition.

SPE president for 2015 Helge Haldorsen said: "We are pleased to announce our strategic partnership with OMG collaborating on their established OTD event.

"Building on the excellent work of our local sections, this opportunity will afford local members, as well as those who have business in the area, a platform for sharing knowledge and expanding their network and skills."
