The development is intended to add three new gas wells to production.

PMS will install the necessary electrical, hydraulic and mechanical connections in deep water to integrate these wells and also complete the installation of three triple tie-in spool bases to connect them.

The WDDM concession in the Mediterranean Sea consists of 19 gas fields including Scarab, Saffron, Simian, Sienna and Sapphire.

These fields are situated at water depths ranging from 700m to 850m and are located approximately 90–120km off the Egyptian coastline.

The contract award follows previous participation by PMS in earlier WDDM phases, where the company was responsible for laying offshore electrical cables at depths of up to 660m. PMS also handled well tie-in and production connections at depths reaching 880m.

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources regards WDDM as one of Egypt’s major offshore gas assets and its further development is part of the country’s strategy to increase output from existing fields.

The ongoing works are expected to strengthen the national energy system and meet domestic demand for gas, according to the government’s aims for the sector.

PMS stated that this project marks a new milestone in its delivery of integrated offshore solutions.

It also reinforces its standing as a prominent national company in this specialised sector, backed by skilled technical staff and advanced operational resources.

PMS also affirmed its ongoing commitment to carrying out all projects to the highest safety, quality and efficiency standards, supporting the petroleum sector’s strategy to grow offshore field development and optimise the use of Egypt’s petroleum resources.
